The Elcometer 7410 is an accurate and easy to use non-invasive instrument for non-destructive measurement of the moisture content of concrete. The gauge is very easy to use; switch the gauge on, press it against the surface and take a reading from the dial.
The dial is graduated from 0% to 6% for concrete moisture readings. The bottom scales are used to obtain comparative or qualitative moisture readings for gypsum and other floor screeds. The electrodes transmit parallel low frequency signals calibrated to give average moisture content by comparing the change in impedance between damp and acceptably dry concrete. Measuring down to a depth of 125mm / 5 inches, the Elcometer 7410 will enable you to see if it is safe to apply a coating or floor covering.
